=====Cognos Consumer Training=====

For Consumer users, this course will provide a background on how to successfully navigate Cognos to run reports from USA Staffing. This training is an online, self-paced training and is approximately 4 hours long. No pre-registration is required to complete this training. The training is available on the USA Staffing Online Course Portal at: https://usastaffing.usalearning.gov/login/index.php

Follow the instructions in the [https://help.usastaffing.gov/ResourceCenter/images/c/c8/Cognos_Basic_Consumer_Online_Training_Registration_Instructions_1.23.2025.pdf'''Accessing the Virtual Cognos Consumer Training'''] document.

=====Reporting Consumer Forum=====

These forums provide report consumers with the opportunity to ask outstanding questions from the training, develop a deeper understanding of the business intelligence tools as used to access and run existing reports, and request demonstrations of consumer functionality. These forums are 1 hour long and take place the third Thursday of each month at 11:00 AM ET. The agenda for the forums is determined by the participants. We may come to the forum with a new tip to share, but the main purpose is to respond to questions and requests for demonstrations. No registration is required to participate in the forums, however participants should have already completed Cognos Consumer Training (virtual or instructor-led) prior to attending. Meeting information, including the link to log in to the forum, will be sent to users approximately 1-2 weeks in advance of each forum. Questions or requests for demonstrations may be sent to  '''USAStaffingData@opm.gov'''. If/when submitting a question or request, please be sure to send it no later than one day prior to the forum.

=====Cognos Report Author Training=====

For users with Cognos Report Author permissions, this course will provide a background on how to successfully use Cognos to create custom reports and modify existing standard reports. The training is an online, self-paced training and is approximately 6 hours long. No pre-registration is required to complete this training. The training is available on the USA Staffing Online Course Portal at https://usastaffing.usalearning.gov/login/index.php. Follow the instructions in the [https://help.usastaffing.gov/ResourceCenter/images/3/39/Cognos_Author_Online_Training_Registration_Instructions_1.23.2025.pdf'''Accessing the Virtual Cognos Author Training'''] document.

=====Reporting Author Forum=====

The USA Staffing Program Office conducts a virtual forum so report authors can meet with our data team to ask questions about report-building techniques in Cognos and Power BI. These hour-long forums are hosted on the first Thursday of each month at 11:00 AM ET. Registration is not required. Meeting information, including the link to log in to the forum, is sent 1-2 weeks in advance of each forum to all individuals that meet one or more of the following criteria: 1) have report author permissions in the Production environment of USA Staffing Cognos; 2) have a Pro license in the Production environment of USA Staffing Power BI; and/or 3) have completed Power BI Report Author Training (virtual or instructor-led). Questions may be sent to USAStaffingData@opm.gov in advance of the forum.

=====Power BI Consumer Training=====

For Consumer users, this course will provide a background on Power BI concepts, navigating the Power BI Service, setting up report subscriptions, exporting data from reports, and how to use both paginated and interactive reports. This training is an online, instructor-led training and is approximately 2 hours long. Registration is required for this training via USA Staffing Account Managers and is completed on a first come, first served basis. Additionally, users must have verified the ability to access USA Staffing Power BI prior to the training to minimize time spent troubleshooting access issues during the training.
