Adding a request location

To add a request location:

  1. Open a request in Incomplete status. For additional information, see Request.
  2. Click Location Information.
  3. Select an option from the Set Number Of Vacancies By drop-down list.
  4. If Announcement is selected, enter the number of vacancies in the Total Vacancies field. You can enter a numeric value, Few, or Many.
  5. Enter a City, Zip Code, County, Country, or Location Code in the Locations search field. The system will automatically display a list of locations based on the information entered.
  6. Select a location from the list. If Location is selected, enter the number of vacancies available for the selected location.
  7. Click Add Location. The location is added to the table at the bottom of the page.

  8. Click Save.
  9. Repeat the steps above to select additional locations, if applicable.

The location code 990000000 – Location Negotiable After Selection can be located by entering 990000000 in the Find Location search field. Note: This code should be used for large nationwide recruitments and should not be used for telework positions, which is a condition of employment. For USAJOBS search purposes, announcements with this location code will be displayed when searching for jobs in the following cities, Los Angeles, CA, San Francisco, CA, Denver, CO, Washington, DC, Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL, Boston, MA, New York, NY, Austin, TX, Seattle, WA, Kansas City, MO, Indianapolis, IN, Phoenix, AZ, Miami, FL, Oklahoma City, OK, Salt Lake City, UT, Portland, OR, Minneapolis, MN, Albuquerque, NM, and New Orleans, LA.
