Competency Library
The Competency Library pop-up box is where you select the competencies to be added to the assessment plan. To access this pop-up, select a Request Number in Pending Recruitment status from the Dashboard, click the Vacancy Number link in the Vacancy Created section, click the Assessment Package tab, click Assessment Plan, click on the appropriate Assessment Name link, click Competencies, click Add Competencies and select Add from Library from the drop-down list. The number in parenthesis indicates the number of available competencies for the series and grade. The following elements are displayed on this page:
- Close. The X icon allows you to close the Competency Library pop-up box and return to the Competencies page.
- All Series. This drop-down list allows you to filter competencies by series. The default is the series selected in the position description.
- All Grades. This drop-down list allows you to filter competencies by grade. The default is the grade(s) selected in the position description.
- Any Type. This drop-down list allows you to filter by general, miscellaneous, supervisory, or technical competencies.
- Tags. This drop-down list allows you to filter by appointing authority, miscellaneous information, occupational family, office, or organization.
- Competency Title, Definition. This field allows you to search by competency title or definition.
- PD#. This field allows you to search by position description number.
- Competency ID#. This field allows you to search by competency ID number.
- Critical. A check in this box allows you to filter for critical competencies only.
- Gray Box. Place a check in this box to add a selected competency to the Assessment Plan.
- ID. This column displays the competency ID.
- Title. This column displays the title for each competency.
- Definition. This column displays a brief definition for each competency.
- Type. This column indicates the type of competency, general or technical.
- Competency Status. This drop-down list allows you to filter competency by status. The default is is Published.
- Show Only Critical Competencies. This toggle allows you to only show competencies marked as critical.
- Excludes HR Manager Competencies. This toggle allows you to exclude competencies from HR Manager.
- Add & Close. This button allows you to add selected competencies to the assessment plan and close the pop-up.
- Add & Continue. This button allows you to add selected competencies to the assessment plan and continue adding competencies.
Note: When selecting competencies, it is important to choose competencies that are specifically related to your position for that series and grade. If your position requires a technical competency that is not available, consult with your Office Administrator to get the competency added to your agency's competency network.
