Announcement Questionnaire
The Announcement Questionnaire page is where you manage the instructions and text for the non-assessment items that will appear in the online questionnaire. Examples include questionnaire items asking for applicants’ contact information, citizenship, veteran preference, and geographic preference. On this page, you should verify that the sections displayed are in fact necessary and that they contain instructions and appropriate response choices. To access this page, select a Request Number in Pending Recruitment status from the Dashboard, click the Vacancy Number link in the Vacancy Created section, click the Announcement tab, and click Announcement Questionnaire. The number to the right indicates how many items have been added. For the basic display of the announcement information, see Announcement. The following elements are displayed:
- Gear Icon. This icon allows you to create a review.
- Notes. This button allows you to add or review notes specific to the announcement. The number next to the right indicates how many notes have been added. Along with the note, the system saves the full name of the user who added the note, date, and time the note was added. For instructions see, Adding an internal note.
- Release. This button is used to publish and update the announcement to USAJOBS once the assessment and announcement content has been reviewed and verified. This is available once the Announcement Template has been selected on the Announcement Text page. Any items to be resolved in order to release the announcement are listed here. Once an announcement is released, there are certain items that cannot be modified that would affect the assessment of applicants or conditions of employment.
- History. This button displays a record of actions completed; including the name of the user, action or change made, and the date and time it occurred. For instructions, see Viewing history.
- Expand Questionnaire. This button allows you to expand or collapse all announcement questionnaire items at the same time.
- Add Section. This button allows you to add a section to the announcement questionnaire. For instructions, see Adding an announcement questionnaire section.
- +. This icon allows you to open each section individually.
- Biographic Information. This is the biographic information to be collected from the applicant in the online questionnaire. This section cannot be modified. These items will display in the online questionnaire once the announcement is released. When applying, the applicant will respond to these items in the online questionnaire providing the necessary information. This information is required to create the applicant record and is also used for referrals and applicant notifications.
- Eligibilities. This is the eligibility information selected on the Vacancy – Eligibilities and Vacancy – Settings pages. This section can be modified. For instructions, see Adding an announcement questionnaire item.
- Add to Eligibilities. This button allows you to add instructions, a new item, or an item from library to the announcement questionnaire Eligibilities section.
- Preferences. This is the information related to employment preferences (e.g. lowest acceptable grade, location, appointment type, or work schedule). Note: If your Vacancy is enabled for Candidate Inventory, a preference question will automatically appear, the question language cannot be edited by HR. The question cannot be deleted from this page, you will need to navigate back to Vacancy - Settings.
- Add to Preferences. This button allows you to add instructions, a new item, or an item from library to the announcement questionnaire Preferences section.
- Save Sections. This button allows you to save changes made to the Announcement Questionnaire.
- Cancel. This button allows you to cancel any changes made to the Announcement Questionnaire.
- Add Screen-Out. This button allows you to add question screen-outs and eligibility screen-outs to the Saved Screen-Outs section. Any standard or custom multiple choice single select question may be assigned to a screen-out on the announcement questionnaire page. AND and OR logic are both available for use. Users may also add a single Eligibility Screen-Out which automatically assigns all eligibility items to a single screen-out. OR is the defaulted operator for the eligibility screen-out. Should a user fail to respond "yes" to any of the selected eligibilities, the user will be automatically screened out from consideration. The Question Screen-Out options are pulled from responses provided on the Announcement Information page to Appointment Type and Work Schedule. Options available are based on responses provided. The Eligibility Screen-Out is taken from what is accepted under Vacancy>Eligibilities. For instructions, see Adding a question screen-out to an announcement questionnaire item.
- Note: Here are a few examples:
- You must speak Farsi OR Spanish. If an applicant indicates that they speak Spanish but not Farsi, the applicant will pass the screen-out.
- You must speak Farsi AND Spanish. If an applicant indicates that they speak Spanish but not Farsi, the applicant will be made ineligible.
