Assessment Questionnaire

The Assessment Questionnaire page is where you add, edit or review instructions, items, or copy and paste items to your assessment questionnaire. The assessment questionnaire appears in the online application when applicants apply. To access this page, select a Request Number in Pending Recruitment status from the Dashboard, click the Vacancy Number link in the Vacancy Created section, click the Assessment Package tab, click Assessment Plan, click Assessment Name link, an assessment specific tab will display, and click Assessment Questionnaire. The number to the right indicates how many items are in the assessment questionnaire. The following elements are displayed:

  • +. This icon allows you to expand or collapse all assessment questionnaire items at the same time.
  • Add to Questionnaire. This drop-down list allows you to select assessment questionnaire items to be added. The options are:
  • Select All. This button allows you to select all assessment items at once.
  • Expand this item. This + icon allows you to view the item associated with your questionnaire.

The Assessment Questionnaire items will display in the order they will be presented to the applicant. These items vary by assessment, but may include instructions, questionnaire items and responses. The competency for each item is displayed.

  • Gray box. A check-mark in this box indicates the item will either be assigned a competency, response option scale, or deleted. This can be done individually or in multiples.
  • Response Option. This is the questionnaire item text that will display to the applicant.
  • Add Response. This button allows you to add a response to the questionnaire item. This option is not available if a scale has been applied to the item.
  • Apply to Selected. This button will display when a check is placed in the Select All button or Gray box next to a questionnaire item(s) and allows an item(s) to be assigned to a competency, a scale to an item(s) or delete multiple items. The options are:
    • Apply Competency. This drop-down list provides competency categories based on the grade and series selected.
    • Apply Scale. This drop-down list provides a list of scales that may be assigned to the questionnaire item. The options are:
      • None
      • Experience/Demonstrated Capability (Entry-Level)
      • Experience/Demonstrated Capability (Higher Complexity)
      • General Schedule (Default)
      • Item-specific Response Options
      • Level of Knowledge Scale
      • Level of Knowledge Scale (Higher Complexity)
      • Technical Competence
      • Yes/No (Default)
    • Delete. This option deletes all selected assessment questionnaire items. For instructions, see Deleting multiple assessment questionnaire items.
    • Clear All Selected. This button will display when the Select All button has been used.
