Vacancy - Position Information
The Position Information page is where you review information from the request and make any necessary changes. Please keep in mind, modifications or edits to this information may conflict with the original request and will impact reporting. The information on this page will be used to populate fields when you are developing the announcement. The USAJOBS Announcement Type will also influence the types of certificates that can be issued. To access this page, select a Request Number in Pending Recruitment status from the Dashboard, click the Vacancy Number link in the Vacancy Created section, and click Position Information.
The USAJOBS Announcement Settings section is where you review or update announcement information that will appear on USAJOBS. The following elements are displayed:
- USAJOBS Job Title. This is the position title as it will appear on the announcement once it is posted on USAJOBS.
- USAJOBS Announcement Type. This is the area of consideration used for some vacancy settings and reporting purposes and is no longer used by USAJOBS. The Hiring Path is used by USAJOBS for applicant search features. For more information, see Announcement Information. The options are:
- Public (U.S. Citizens and Non-Citizens). This box should be checked when the position is open to outside applicants under competitive examining procedures.
- Status (Federal/Veteran/Other Eligible). This box should be checked when the position is open to candidates who are current or former Federal employees, or other people who are entitled to apply under the agency's Merit Promotion Plan (for example, VEOA).
- Internal Merit Promotion. This box should be checked when the position is open to candidates who are current agency employees, or other applicants who are entitled to apply under an agency's Merit Promotion Plan.
Note: The selection(s) made in this section should correspond to the selected Hiring Paths in Announcement Information For additional information, see Announcement Information.
- Vacancy Type. The selected radio button indicates the vacancy type. The options are:
- Case Exam. This is used for announcements with set short-term open and close dates.
- Standing Register. This is used for open continuous announcements or announcements with set long-term open and close dates. When this vacancy type is selected, the expire feature in Vacancy settings will need to be enforced. See, Vacancy - Settings.
The Position Settings section is where you review or update position information entered on the Request Information page. Changes made in this section will not appear on the original, approved request. The following elements are displayed:
- Customers. This is the Requesting Customer selected in the request. You can indicate additional customers by making a selection from the drop-down list. To remove a customer, click the X icon next to it.
- Security Clearance Required. This drop-down list displays the type of security clearance required for the position. The options in this drop-down list are:
- Not Required
- Confidential
- Secret
- Top Secret
- Sensitive Compartmented Information
- Q Access Authorization
- L Access Authorization
- Other
- Travel Required. This drop-down list displays the amount of travel required for this position. The options in this drop-down list are:
- Not Required
- Occasional Travel
- 25% or Less
- 50% or Less
- 75% or Less
- 76% or Greater
- Remote Job. A check in this box indicates the position is eligible for remote job. Note: Checking this option this will disable the Telework checkbox. For additional information specific to this feature, please refer to the Remote Work FAQs document.
- Telework Eligible. A check in this box indicates the position is eligible for telework. Note: Checking this option will disable the Remote Job checkbox.
- Drug Testing Required A check in this box indicates the position requires drug testing.
- Position Sensitivity and Risk. This drop-down list allows you to select the sensitivity and risk level of the position. The options include:
- Non-sensitive (NS)/Low Risk.
- Noncritical-Sensitive (NCS)/Moderate Risk.
- Critical-Sensitive (CS)/High Risk.
- Special-Sensitive (SS)/High Risk.
- High Risk (HR).
- NCS/High Risk.
- Trust Determination Process. This drop-down list allows you to select how the position sensitivity and risk will be determined. The options include:
- Credentialing.
- Suitability/Fitness.
- National security.
- Supervisory Position. A check in this box indicates the position is supervisory.
- Bargaining Unit Position. A check in this box indicates the position is part of the bargaining unit.
- Relocation Authorized A check in this box indicates relocation expenses are authorized for the position.
- Financial Disclosure Required. A check in this box indicates that financial disclosure is required for the position.
The Position Descriptions section allows you to enter and review information about the position(s) indicated in the request. The number to the right indicates how many position descriptions are associated with the request. The following elements are displayed:
- Interdisciplinary Position. A check in this box indicates this is an interdisciplinary position.
- Add Position Description. This button allows you to add multiple position descriptions associated with a single request if applicable. This is typically used for interdisciplinary positions.
- Gray Box. This icon allows you to delete one or more position descriptions by checking the box next to each position description you want to delete and clicking the Delete Selected button.
- Position Description Number. This column displays the position description (PD) number for each position indicated in the request.
- Position Title. This column displays the position title(s) indicated in the request.
- Pay Plan. This column displays the pay plan for the position indicated in the request.
- Series. This column displays the series of the position indicated in the request.
- Grade . This column displays the grade(s) indicated in the request.
- Specialties. This column displays the specialties associated with the position indicated in the request.
